Samsung SDS Presents the Future of Manufacturing Companies at Samsung SDS Industry Day

Samsung SDS held the seminar titled ‘Samsung SDS Industry Day: Preparing for the Future of Manufacturing’ for manufacturers at the SKY31 Convention in Jamsil on April 16th.
The seminar was organized to showcase real-world applications of Samsung SDS’s differentiated generative AI technology and specialized solutions for manufacturing – ERP, MES, PLM, OT security- while also sharing related expertise .
Approximately 300 IT employees from manufacturing companies attended the event, showing keen interest in the digital innovation cases of the manufacturing sector.
At the seminar, Samsung SDS presented digital manufacturing innovation strategies covering various themes. These included cases of utilizing AI agents in the manufacturing sector; methods of manufacturing ERP innovation; OT security strategies to respond to ransomware; private 5G-based on-site manufacturing innovation; and cases of AI-based digital purchasing (SRM) innovation.
The company shared strategies for successfully applying specialized solutions for manufacturing (e.g., ERP, MES, PLM) that are changing amid the introduction of generative AI. Additionally, cases of optimizing these solutions were also presented.
During his keynote speech, Jung-wuk Kim, Vice President of the Consulting Team at Samsung SDS, presented tailored digital innovation strategies for companies, drawing on Samsung SDS’s experience with core manufacturing systems and global cases. He also suggested where the manufacturing sector should be headed in the future.
The following session, titled ‘AI Agent: Key Notes on Hyperautomation,’ drew keen attention from the participants as the session introduced key hyperautomation elements for the manufacturing sector and real-world cases of applications.
Additionally, Samsung SDS highlighted growing security threats on manufacturing sites amid an increase in smart factories and the expansion of IoT and 5G networks.
The company explained the necessity of security solutions for the real-time protection of production facilities (e.g., IoT sensors and robots) and manufacturing processes that operate 24/7. Furthermore, specific strategies to detect and block cyberattacks were also suggested.
Meanwhile, Samsung SDS gained positive feedback from participants by sharing cases and methods of utilizing its Global Development Centers (GDCs).
Samsung SDS operates the GDCs in China, Vietnam, and India, applying the same level of security and quality systems to IT system development, operations, and consulting services for customers in various sectors, as it does in Korea.
Following its seminar for the national defense sector held in February this year, Samsung SDS will continue to hold seminars targeting customers in various areas, such as manufacturing, retail/service, financial, and public sectors. The company plans to actively support business productivity innovation by leveraging cloud, generative AI, and industry-specialized solutions.
