Samsung SDS Signs MOU with the Republic of Korea Air Force to Innovate the Air Force Resource Management System

On October 23rd, Samsung SDS signed an MOU with the Headquarters of the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF), at Gyeryongdae Integrated Military Base, to innovate ROKAF’s military resource management system.

With the MOU, both parties will collaborate in the following areas: digital transformation of the military resource management system; forecasting and analysis of military resource demands; and innovation of ROKAF’s supply chain management.

Samsung SDS is expected to contribute to the forecasting and analysis of military resource demands and the optimization of resource utilization by applying the latest IT, such as cloud, generative AI, and big data analytics for the digital transformation of ROKAF’s military resource management system.

Additionally, Samsung SDS and ROKAF will share their know-how of logistics operations, supply chain management (SCM), etc., and have continuous discussions on military/private logistics systems, current issues related to technological changes, and others.

With the MOU, Samsung SDS will be able to apply its solutions to the defense sector, thereby reinforcing its product competitiveness.

Seon-gyu Jung, Deputy Chief of Staff, Directorate of Logistics for the ROKAF Headquarters, said, “We are pleased to have established a seamless collaboration with Samsung SDS to innovate the Air Force’s military resource management system with new technologies. We hope the MOU will serve as a bridgehead for innovating the Air Force’s military resource management system.”

Jeong-heon Lee, Executive Vice President and Leader of the Strategic Marketing Office at Samsung SDS said, “Recently, Samsung SDS has been actively supporting the digital innovation of the public and defense sectors by leveraging cloud and generative AI. We will continue to collaborate with the ROKAF to implement a digital transformation of the military logistics management system and make it future-oriented.
