Samsung SDS Leads Data-Based Digital Logistics With More Sophisticated AI-Based Analysis and Prediction

+ Detect logistic risks and support rapid decision-making by leveraging AI technology
+ Enhance prediction accuracy with AI, offering predictive ETD & ETA, and early detection of unloading issues
+ Improve customer access with generative AI-based market reports
Samsung SDS held the Cello Square Conference 2025 under the theme “Solution for Global Supply Chain Disruption - Data-Based Logistics Innovation” at its Jamsil Campus on March 26th.
The event aimed to introduce the digital logistics platform, Cello Square’s more sophisticated analytical AI-based services, such as predictive estimated time of departure (ETD), estimated time of arrival (ETA), and early detection of transshipment and unloading port issues. Additionally, the platform’s customer convenience services, such as generative AI-based logistics market information and analysis reports, were also unveiled.
Samsung SDS invited 600 people, including industry stakeholders such as shippers, e-commerce sellers, and partners. They discussed global landscape changes, market trends, and digital transformation solutions for resolving supply chain risks.
Recently, global supply chains have witnessed challenging situations across the air and sea logistics sectors, including geopolitical risks, Trump’s second-term administration’s tariff policies, and the restructuring of global shipping alliances.
In this regard, it has been more crucial than ever to swiftly detect risks affecting logistics and make data-based decisions to effectively respond to disruptions in the global supply chain.
Additionally, as IT is used for data collection and integration in the logistics business, the ability to select and utilize highly reliable data out of information derived from various sources is being emphasized.
By leveraging its accumulated operational data and AI technology, Samsung SDS’s Cello Square suggests optimized logistics operation strategies while providing services that automatically predict real-time location and delay time of import/export cargo. Through this, the company scientifically supports its customers’ global supply chain operations.
□ Support for Data-Based Decision-Making in Logistics Business Using Analytical AI
Samsung SDS provides predictive ETA information by utilizing analytical AI technology, rather than solely relying on cargo ETA information provided by shipping companies.
Samsung SDS further enhanced its prediction accuracy by incorporating the degree of congestion by port, not to mention ship transit time and port dwell time.
Furthermore, the company introduced a service that predicts ETD, which can potentially change after cargo shipment bookings. With this, the company created a system for proactively responding to situations by predicting the whole process, from cargo loading to final arrival, in real time.
Additionally, the company has established systems and processes for risk factor detection and rapid decision-making, such as changing the port of discharge or developing new inland transport plans should cargo unloading become impossible due to disasters or labor strikes at the destination port.
□ Enhanced Customer Convenience and Accessibility Through Generative AI-Based Market Analysis Reports
Cello Square utilizes generative AI to detect global logistics risks and assess the risk level. The platform identifies cargo exposed to risks and automatically notifies relevant customers and logistics operators so that they can respond accordingly.
Customers can access the Cello Square channel on ChatGPT Store (GPTs) anytime to check quotations, optimize cargo loading, track cargo, and more. Recently, the platform introduced a new service that analyzes comprehensive indices, including the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), and generates/provides related reports.
With this, customers can receive up-to-date logistics market information and analytical reports anytime, in any format, that may otherwise be difficult to obtain.
Kooil O, Executive Vice President and Leader of the Logistics Business Division at Samsung SDS, said, “The increasing global volatility makes it difficult for many of our customers to make decisions on their logistics business. Samsung SDS provides various AI-powered data analytics technologies to help them make rapid, accurate decisions in global logistics. Going forward, we will continue to improve our services.”
